Across the river from St. Louis Missouri, ESL is a decaying suburb which seems to contain far more abandoned and damaged buildings than it does intact and occupied ones.
A burned-out but still beautibul church which resembles an ancient
ruin. The congregation has taken over the attached community center / theater.
The wreckage of the public library, occupied by vagrants and supposedly
wild dogs.
A variety of collapsing downtown structures show some fascinating
decoration and architecture, but have suffered from decades of neglect
and weather.
