Rooftops are great fun, although they often leave one quite exposed to observers below. They are also one of the more dangerous environments for exploration in this area, especially when one consideres the amount of ice and snow buildup in this cold climate. Unfortunately roofs are often much harder to access than mechanical rooms, so there aren't too many that I've been able to explore on campus.

Getting up here during a good auroral show kicks ass. My digital
camera's
time exposures came out especially well this time.
Internationl Arctic Research Center
Hard to access, but well worth it for the view. Apparently there's
an alarm on the door we used, so we won't be returning.
Elvey
This is the one with the big satellite dish on top, which is used to
overcome the sheilding effects of tinfoil hats on the government's mind
control program.
There's also a small observatory dome up on this roof. The first and
third photo were taken towards eachother, the first shows Elvey's roof,
and the third
shows the IARC building roof (previous set of photos are from there).
I couldn't find my photo of the big dish, it has a camera so I didn't
get
too close.
Rasmusson Library
Three grainy photos taken without flash on a crappy camera. The first
shows an explorer coming up through the hatch, the second shows the
Bunnell
and Brooks, and the third (barely) shows Gruening and the MBS complex.
